Le Moyne College PA Program: Felicity's Acceptance Story (3 of 4 Acceptances)

Le Moyne College PA Program: Felicity's Acceptance Story (3 of 4 Acceptances)

By: Savanna Perry, PA-C

TL;DR

Felicity applied once to 8 programs, interviewed with 4, and was accepted to 3 of them. She did it with a 3.9 science GPA, no GRE, 800 PCE hours as a Resident Assistant, and only 10 virtual shadowing hours — one of the leanest hour profiles in this series.

In Our Experience

In our experience at The PA Platform, a 3-for-4 interview conversion rate with a lean hour profile usually points to two things: a very strong science GPA and programs that weigh academics heavily. Felicity’s 3.9 science GPA did a lot of work here. If your hours are on the lighter side, be honest about it and make sure the programs on your list actually align with what you have, rather than assuming a strong GPA covers every requirement.

Where will you be attending?

Le Moyne College

Every Pre-PA Should Know...

Felicity was accepted with just 10 virtual shadowing hours. Shadowing minimums vary enormously between programs — some require 40 or more, some require none at all.

CLOSING

Felicity kept it short: keep working hard and it will work out. Three acceptances out of four interviews suggests she had more going for her than the brief stats capture. Le Moyne is getting a strong student.
