What sealed it for her was the campus visit. She liked Omaha, the location near family, and the positive feedback she'd heard, but after interviewing she felt the facilities, faculty, and staff just clicked. Sometimes a program simply feels right once you're there.

The clinical year is the headline. UNMC offers 15 months of clinical rotations, and students get to choose six electives. The hardest part of PA school, she says, is the volume of information. It's often not that the material is hard to understand, it's that there's so much more than undergrad, which can be overwhelming if you fall behind. Her advice splits into two parts. School-wise: learn early not to compare yourself to classmates, because what takes them five hours might take you three, so focus on what works for you and do it well. Outside life-wise: still have a life. Your life isn't over when PA school starts, so make time for mental health breaks like Netflix, working out, or cooking, because that matters as much as cramming an extra half hour.
