The Good Stuff:
-
Hometown Scholars Program: This program promotes the provision of high – quality, comprehensive healthcare that is accessible, coordinated, culturally and linguistically competent and community-directed for all underserved populations for applicants interested in pursuing community health. Typically, applicants work or volunteer in a community health center and then obtain an endorsement from the community health center leadership, which is used as part of the application process.
-
Body, Mind and Spirit Course: This course, which is integrated throughout each didactic term allows students to explore topics including spirituality in medicine, ethics, inter-professionalism, cross culturalism, and care of diverse populations.
-
Clinical Rotations: Rotations are completed on one of two tracks. The AZ Track places students throughout the Phoenix area. The Community Health Centers Track places students into community health centers in AZ, TX, CA, LA, GA, or OK to complete their rotations.
