PA School Accreditation: How Provisional and Probation Can Affect You?

How important is PA school accreditation? What does provisional status mean? What about probation? How does that affect your ability to take boards or get a job? Should you apply to these programs? Are your chances of acceptance any better? We’re answering all of those questions today! Here are the fast facts:

Provisional, Continued, and Probation are all full accreditation statuses that will allow you to sit for boards as long as you start a program that has one of these indications.

Tips for Less CASPA Stress

Time for a little intro and refresher on why I became a PA for anyone new to the podcast. Then, we’re jumping into tips for making your CASPA experience a little easier. Here are the highlights and links:

• CASPA only calculates your GPA once with the information that is entered at the time of submission. That means courses in progress won’t be included even if you update later with new grades. What is my CASPA GPA? - https://www.thepaplatform.com/blog-2/csk9jra4zhektfyerfzehth9d2ejzb

• Everything hypothetically should carry over between cycles except for letters of recommendation and the personal statement. Don’t rely solely on CASPA to save all of your information. You can use the HCE/PCE Excel sheets from www.thepaplatform.com/downloads to organize your experiences.

• You cannot edit experiences that are already entered in CASPA, but you can add new ones. The schools will get updates, but they may not look at them.
