GPA-competitive — The average accepted overall GPA here (3.83) sits in the top quarter of PA programs nationally. If your GPA is below about 3.66, you will want the rest of your application — hours, letters, upward trend — to do real work.
The minimum is not the target — The stated minimum GPA is 3.3, but the average accepted is 3.83 — a gap of 0.53. Meeting the floor gets you screened in, not admitted.
Experience-heavy — A 2,000-hour patient care minimum is at or above the national 75th percentile. Plan on a year or more of full-time work before you apply.
Faster to practice — At 24 months, this program is shorter than most. That means less tuition and earlier income, but a denser schedule with little slack.
Higher cost — In-state tuition of $123,200 is in the most expensive quarter nationally. Worth weighing against your expected starting salary and loan burden.
No extra standardized testing — No GRE, PA-CAT, or CASPer required — one less hurdle if standardized tests are not your strength.
Apply early — Admissions are rolling, so seats come off the board as the cycle goes. An application submitted in the first few weeks is worth more than the same application submitted in month four.

Program director episodes are my favorite, because you get the answers straight from the person making the decisions.
Dr. Curt Stilp runs the PA program at George Fox University in Oregon, and it was still a newer program when we recorded this. Newer programs get overlooked, which is a mistake, because they're often building something intentional instead of running on inertia.
George Fox uses problem-based learning, so students are working through cases early instead of sitting in lecture for a year first. There's also a strong service focus, especially toward rural and underserved communities, and Curt is clear that they're looking for applicants who genuinely care about that, not applicants who wrote one sentence about it in their essay.
If you're building your school list, listen for what he says about fit. It's the part people skip.
