He's the Director of Admissions for the PA program at Eastern Virginia Medical School, and his take is that a waitlist spot means you're qualified and you're close. Sitting on one is miserable, but it's information, not a no.
On numbers: he says competitive applicants there generally have somewhere around 1,000 to 1,500 hours of healthcare experience plus a solid GPA. Check with the program for their current expectations, since these shift.
